Educational Session to Address Pipeline Projects
FREEHOLD, N.J., May. 11, 2016 – Michael K. Rutter and Christine A. Roy, partners in the regional law firm of Rutter & Roy LLP (formerly Watson, Stevens, Rutter & Roy), will be leading a session at the International Right of Way Association’s 62nd Annual International Education Conference this June in Nashville, Tennessee at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.
The law partners’ educational session, titled, “Planning for Federally Regulated Pipeline Projects: A Legal Perspective,” is slated for Tuesday, June 14 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Rutter and Roy will discuss the role that lawyers can play from the inception of a project through acquisition, construction, restoration and beyond. They will cover how including legal counsel in the project planning and development stages can be crucial for saving time and money, and helping to avoid potential show-stoppers. The presenters will share their extensive experience working on behalf of major interstate pipeline clients, explaining how with proper planning, major issues can be identified and avoided. Additionally, they will discuss the creation of “milestone schedules” and their importance in helping to ensure that a project’s required in-service date is met.
The four-day conference will be held on June 12 – 15 and is expected to attract more than 1,500 right of way professionals from around the globe. In addition to being an event sponsor, Rutter & Roy will be exhibiting at booth number 129.
